DIY – Tennis racket with a heart

I while ago I stumbled upon the Instagram account of artist Danielle Clough and was completely in love with her embroidery. I thought to myself – hey there are some old tennis rackets on my grandma’s attic, why I don’t try to do something similar. Not really embroider, just weave/braid/plait pink wool through the racket mesh, since I’m not really good and patient enough to create something as beautiful as Danielle Clough does! 🙂 So here is what I did:

I took the old Dunlop tennis racket and some pink wool and randomly braided the wool in a heart shape. Took me about 15min. But I really like it. Doesn’t look perfect, but still a nice decoration. And for the record – I played tennis when I was young. Not really good and kinda got forced to do it, but my best friend and I made it fun. And yes, we wore cute tennis skirts and all… man, I wish there would be a photo of us. 😉
