This time a friend of mine – the gorgeous Anna Langer – did the interview at the Nine Queens Event with Emma.

What is your name?
Emma Dahlström

What do you do for living and where do you do it?
I’m a professional skier, freeskier if you wanna call it that, and I do it all over the world, I’m really chasing the best snow and the best park there is. Right now that’s Perisher in Australia, I really like that one. Australia is so different and nice, and the park there is super good, they have great weather and the laps are really fast so you get to do a lot of riding in one day. My other favourite is my home resort Kläppen in Sweden. It’s not directly where I’m from but I spend a lot of time there and they also have fast laps, you can get a hundred runs a day if you want. I went to school close to that resort as well, so we skied there for 3-5 days a week.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
Ehrm… My favourite part is that I get to be outdoor as much as I can do and that I get to do what I love all the time. I’m from the countryside in Sweden, so being outdoors was always very close to me, and I’ve also always loved doing sports, I was doing everything I could get my hands on basically…

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to play my guitar and I try to travel with it as much as I can. I started with lessons when I was around 10 years old, but I haven’t really been doing any since I went to school. Nowadays I just play for myself and try different songs that I like, right now one of my favourites is Love is All by Tallest Man on Earth. And I like to hang out with friends, I work out and do yoga a lot… Power Yoga mostly and I try to do Ashtanga Yoga but it’s really tricky! I do it more for myself to get strong and flexible. I really like handstands and headstands, those are among my favourites. It’s a bit like learning a new trick, that’s the fun part of it… I haven’t mastered it yet perfectly, it’s a lot of work, but getting there is fun!

What was your last travel destination and what will be the next?
Serfaus for the Nine Queens! It’s my 5th time here. And the next stop is actually to go home for a mini-vacation in Stockholm! I’m from the west part of Sweden, so I don’t spend a lot of time in Stockholm, so it’s gonna be fun checking it out! And to hang out with my boyfriend a little, he’s from the countryside as well but from a different part and we’ll meet in the city.

Favorite city?
Ohhhh… I never had that question before!! What is my favourite city…?? …. I think it’s Wellington, NZ. I’ve only been there twice but it was awesome! It’s so close to the water and I really like that it’s pretty artsy, a lot of cafés and it’s a chilled vibe.

Are you on Instagram, if yes can we follow you? 🙂

Who do you like to follow on Instagram and why?
I like to follow people who share their moments in a unique way and have a nice insta-flow, if you know what i mean… It’s a lot of different people but mainly within the snow industry I guess, and also travelers. Like Bear Kiwi, he’s a GoPro Instagram dude from New Zealand, he travels around NZ and takes pictures with his GoPro, it’s really cool!

Summer or Winter?

Dress or Jeans?
I use jeans mostly, so jeans…

Tv-Show or Movie?

Cheese or Bacon?

Ocean or Mountains?

Name 5 things you can’t live without, when you are going on a road-trip!
My guitar, a beanie or hat, toothpaste, my running shoes and my sunnies.

Ok, last question: if you could be an animal, what would it be? (Unicorns and dragons are counting as well!)
A dog! A happy one that has a lot of energy…

Anything else you wanna say?If you’re a girl and you really like to try new stuff, I suggest you try out the park! Because it’s a lot of fun and once you try it, you will probably be hooked. If you’re scared, I suggest you just grab your skis anyhow and just try on the smallest thing you can find, and just try to take it from there. I also started with a 1 metre box and now I’m jumping 24 metre kickers…
